  • The competition shall run from January to December of each calendar year.
  • These points can only be gained at KUSA sanctioned Championship Shows save and except any FCI show where no points shall count towards this competition.
  • Competition is open to all Irish Wolfhound owners but trophies will only be handed out to paid up club members.
  • Points to be calculated as per the table below.
  • The Committee shall administer the computation of points from the show catalogues.
  • A Draft copy of the Final Points shall be published by the end of February of the year following the competition. This shall provide time for verification before the awards are presented at the club Championship Show in April.
  • Any queries on the Draft Final Points must be submitted to the committee without delay and in writing, substantiated by the relevant catalogues and/or documentation as proof of claims.  It shall otherwise be deemed that the competitor accepts the results as per the draft copy published.
  • Within the breed judging results, should the CC (Challenge Certificate) or RCC (Reserve Challenge Certificate) dog or bitch win Best Of Breed or Reserve Best Of Breed then the CC or RCC points earned shall fall away, i.e. the highest score remains and all other wins fall away.
  • Any additional points from Group places upwards shall be in addition to the breed points already accrued.
  • There shall be a RUNNER-UP Irish Wolfhound of the Year, which shall be the second highest scoring dog in points, regardless of sex.
  • The top ten dogs in the country shall be invited to attend a prize giving to be held at the Championship Show or similar event, the year following the competition.
  • If at the end of the competition year, there are any dogs with equal points, the tie break shall be decided upon by whichever of the dogs has achieved the highest award or number of awards starting with the most Best in Show wins, and so on down to the most BOB wins.  If, after this, the tie has not been broken then there shall be a joint placing of the dogs and any awards shall be shared.
